It's that time of year again - Christmas Party Time!
Come on out for good food, good friends and good times! Kirkwood Station Brewing Company is the place to be on Saturday, December 9th from 1p-3p. (105 E. Jefferson Ave.)
This year we will be doing the usual food and toy drive, but I decided to add the Humane Society as well. When you arrive and sign the logbook, you will get a ticket for the attendance prize drawing. For each group that you bring donations for, you will receive an extra ticket. If you bring donations for all 3 groups, you will receive a total of *five* extra tickets!
Here are some needed items that the groups are looking for.
Food bank: canned tuna or chicken, peanut butter, meals in a can (soup, stew, etc), canned vegetables, canned fruit. Also, shampoo, soap, TP, diapers and money (for every $1 given, they can buy $10 of food!) - I will have an envelope for cash or checks made out to SLAGA. I will then turn around and make one large donation to the food bank.
Humane Society: sturdy, washable cat & dog toys, blankets (all sizes), towels & washclothes, newspaper (no ads), paper towels, fabric softener dryer sheets, gentle leaders, cat beds, med & large Kongs, Purina Brand treats, door mat sized rugs.
Toys for Tots: New unwrapped toys for all ages.
There has been a request to add a "White Elephant" or "Yankee Swap" game, so it shall be done. In order to play (you don't have to, if you don't want to) bring a new or gently used item that is attractively wrapped or bagged. The item $$ amount should be around $10.
