"Hope's renovated Railway Station was originally VV&E railway station and was built in 1916 by the Great Northern Railway.
Over the years, it served as a station for the Canadian National Railway.
In 1985, the abandoned building was moved from its site at the corner of Hudson Bay Street and Fifth Avenue to the junction of Highways #1 and #3, now called the Rainbow Junction.
The station retains its original look, and is one of the last train stations of its design in existence.
In 1939, George VI and Queen Elizabeth made a stop in Hope on their cross Country tour of Canada~ Royalty once again paid a visit when Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip made a brief stop in October of 1951~
UPDATE:The Station House has changed hands over the past years and although it had some renovations done, sadly this Historic building sits empty and could very well be torn down sometime in the future. All the efforts of those who worked so tirelessly to have it restored were unsuccessful. A new Tourist information site has recently opened down the highway.Until such time as this Historic place no longer exists,Cache on~
