Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small camo medicine bottle with log and room for very small trade items; BYOP!

Texas became the 28th state on Dec. 29, 1845

Did you know? The Flagship Hotel on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston is the only hotel in North America built entirely over the water

We are proud to be Americans and think that we live in the greatest country in the world. So we wanted to hide a cache series as a tribute to each state in the United States. This series will include 50 P&G caches – these will be easy and quick, but we want to make this geocaching series a little more interactive. Each cache will be named after a state and the summary will include a fun fact about that state on its cache page that you may or may not know. Each summary will also include the date the state entered into the union.

THIS IS OPTIONAL: If you would like to help make this series interactive with other cachers, here is how you can (if you choose to). We would like you to tell us info in your log on particular states that mean something to you. If you are interested in this, the type of info you could share is:

  • If you have traveled to, visited or lived in this state
  • If you have a fun or interesting fact about this state
  • Anything else you may want to share about the state

These caches are placed along Highway 150 spanning from Rockcastle to Lincoln Counties (approx. 13) miles (Mt. Vernon to Crab Orchard). All of the caches in this series are on the right side of the road if you are heading west. This is a busy road, but there is plenty of room to pull off to capture the smiley; if you choose to let your children geocache in this series, please be careful due to the busy road.

***Let’s keep this series alive and the caches in good shape. You can do your part by replacing the lids properly and making sure each zip lock bag is properly shut! If there is a concern with any of these caches, we would appreciate it if you let us know in your log (i.e. log wet, log full, cache missing or damaged, etc). We will be reading your logs for any info you wish to share about each state and any info you put about the cache will be read. This will be greatly appreciated! We will make sure to maintenance these caches periodically in order for them to stay in good shape for each geocacher to find! Happy caching!!

*These facts we have listed for each of the states were retrieved from the internet. We didn’t personally verify these facts; however they were retrieved from a reputable site. If we have a fact wrong and you want to let us know, please send us a message through geocaching with the correct info. Granted, we do know there are many facts we could have listed about each state, but we decided on the ones listed; if you want to share a fact with other geocachers, you may do so if you want by listing the fact in your log.
