Geocache Description:

CITO EVENT 8am - 11am

As Hubby and I embarked on the cache located here we were disappointed to see the litter that had claimed this beautiful spot. So our aim is to clean this area up so the cache can be known for it's name and not the litter.

The Red Hill Lookout on Toodyay Road has been littered with household goods, mattresses, fridges and so on as well as general household rubbish. The task at hand is going to be a massive one so the more helpers we have on the day the better. The terrain is steep and will require team work and hard work. Some of the larger items will require a lot of strength to be brought to the top of the lookout, one idea I thought of is possibly using a winch to pull them up.

I have registered the event with "Keep Australia Beautiful WA" who will be providing gloves and rubbish bags for us. I would like to do a massive shout out to fellow cacher Cindy Fryer from KAB who has spoken to someone at the City of Swan to organise the rubbish to be taken away in the days after the clean-up. Cindy has also arranged for KAB to notify MainRoadsWA as the area is owned by them and the Department of Parks and Wildlife as there is parkland involved. The City of Swan asked that all of the rubbish bags (and mattresses etc) be placed in one pile to make it easier for the clean-up crew to load it into their vehicle.

Their is room for approximately 10 cars to be parked at the location as well as other off road spots close by, I would recommend car pooling as a better option. The terrain is steep so enclosed footwear is a must. I wouldn't recommend small children or children who have not yet mastered road sense come as it could be a dangerous environment for them however older children would love the challenge of the terrain. Parents please make sure your children stay safe and away from the road.

Please log your attendance to this CITO event and help us to clean up this beautiful location as well as earn yourself a new souvenir. Remember many hands makes light work.

Our aim is to kick off at 8am so we can then head off into John Forrest National Park for a picnic/BBQ and a cold one (BYO)

***Don't forget to bring lots of water*** and maybe a plate of something to share throughout the morning.
