Geocache Description:

salford

The earliest parts of St.Mary's church, the nave and south aisle, date to the late 13th century though there was a church here at an earlier date. Interestingly the north porch includes a beam with a 13th century dogtooth ornament. The chancel is early 14th century, the nave rood and some of the pews are 15th century.

Once you get to the church, walk up the main path to the church's North porch. In the porch, you will find a small metal sign which has one numeral on it. That numeral is A.

Now have a sit on the bench and look to your left where you will see the grave of John Littleton Hill (you can see the bench and the gravestone in the above picture). John was born on May 1st 18BC and died on Feb 4th 19DE.

Now go round the side of the church (anticlockwise), look up and count the number of bells on show. This is F
