Geocache Description:

A little and easy cache with a romantic view (if searched for when dark) and a well known roman optical illusion

This cache, hidden on piccolomini street, brings you to a well known spot, where romans bring their girlfriends, if they want to create a romantic mood.

Tourists however seem not to know this place. Therefore i put a cache there. For best results, it has to be searched in the evening and possibly with a partner. ;)

Not only is this place rather nice, it also offers one of the weirdest illusions in rome. This street is a straight line, pointing towards the st. peters basilica. When looking at the basilica from the distant end of the street, the dome looks rather big. The more one approaches the basilica though, the more the dome seems to shrink. This effect is best to see while driving a car, or running down the street, since only from the street you have a clear view on the dome. However, this street is not that trafficked, so that it shouldn't be a problem to walk on it in the evening.
