#19 The Cheese Board-Wrekin White Traditional Geocache
UGGY: Time for this series to go and free up some space for new hides. After almost 9 years most of the cheese has been nibbled and the rest has gone mouldy so no longer very appetising. Thanks to all who visited The Cheese Board.

Full description at #1 and #28
WREKIN WHITE is a cow's milk cheese made in the United Kingdom. The Wrekin White was first made in the 1990s in Newport, Shropshire, and is named after The Wrekin Hill in Shropshire
The milk is from British Friesian cows and the cheese, which is matured for six months, has a rich, creamy, full-bodied flavour which becomes more intense and nutty with age.
The rind is brushed with rapeseed oil to prevent it from drying out too much.
Wrekin White has won the following awards:-
Silver medal at the British Cheese awards 2005
Gold medal at the British Cheese awards 2006
Silver Medal at the World Cheese Awards 2007
Although this is one of the lesser known cheeses, I have included it, as it comes from the county of my birth.
