Ali se bojiš povodnega moža?
Reka Rinža je mirna reka v Kočevju, ki se leno pretaka skozi mesto. Med 2. svetovno vojno, ko so prebivalci Kočevja mislili, da se sovražnika ne morejo več ubraniti, so zbrali vse bogastvo, ki ga premorejo in ga skrili v globine reke. Tam bi počivalo do dne, dokler bi se nekdo od njih lahko ponj vrnil.
Legenda pravi, da so v globinah vod pustili pošast, ki bi zaklad stražila na veke vekomaj. V verigah so ga privlekli iz daljne dežele in ga vklenili v dno reke. Poimenovali so ga povodni mož, saj jih je njegova podoba spominjala na človeka.
A nihče ni vedel, da te zveri ne bodo mogli nadzorovati in ukrotiti. Pravijo, da se je že več pogumnih silakov odpravilo po zaklad, a vrnil se ni še nihče. Zaklad je bil za njih izgubljen.
Čez deželo se je razširil rek, ki pravi:
Nihče dovolj mogočen ni, da premaga povodnega moža,
zato vzdrži se pohlepa in ne išči ga.
V globinah reke zdaj sedi,
nesmrtna pošast, ki nikoli ne zaspi.
Naš zaklad za vedno izgubljen,
kdor ponj odpravi se, je pogubljen.
A če želiš se ga lotiti,
je vse, kar moraš zdaj storiti,
le na reki najti amulet,
ki odpelje te v drugi svet.
Reka Rinža
Zdaj si na vrsti ti. Se upaš podati na reko Rinžo in najti njen zaklad? Ne skrbi, vse je le stara izmišljena pripoved. Današnji prebivalci smo skoraj sigurni, da povodnega moža v resnici ni.
Boš torej zgrabil priložnost in raziskal skrivnosti naše reke? Ali pa ti bo ves ta govor o pošasti prišel do živega in boš raje ostal na varnem doma?
No, vsekakor, če se odločiš poiskati izgubljeno bogastvo Kočevja, prinesi svoj čoln. Na reki ni možne izposoje čolna, menda je bilo nekaj govora o tem, da se nekateri kanuji niso več vrnili..
No, kakorkoli, le čudno naključje. Tako, da hitro zgrabi veslo in se vkrcaj, miren tok reke te pričakuje.
Še vedno te nismo prepričali? Pa daj no, ali se res bojiš povodnega moža?
Preberi zgornjo zgodbo. Če se želiš lotiti tega zaklada se boš moral nanj pripraviti, zato dobro prisluhni.
Potreboval boš svoj čoln, saj izposoja na reki ni možna. Uporabiš lahko kajak ali kanu na vesla, lahko tudi napihljiva. Ugrez čolna naj bo čim manjši, saj je reka na nekaterih območjih zelo nizka - včasih tudi le nekaj decimetrov. Glej, da čoln lahko dvigneš in preneseš na višji tok, saj bo to od tebe zahtevano na enem delu reke. Ravno zato je priporočljivo s seboj imeti tudi kakšno vodno obutev.
Plovba po reki Rinži je v obdobju od 1. aprila do 30. septembra dovoljena med 5:00 - 21:00. V obdobju od 1. oktobra do 31. marca pa v času med 7:00 - 18:00. Izven tega časa (v nočnem času) je plovba po reki prepovedana. Na reko se ne odpravljate v sušnih obdobjih, saj voda na nekaterih območjih usahne in plovba po reki ni možna. Plutje je dovoljeno do zapornic - od vstopne točke se nahajajo na desni strani, vi zavijte levo k zakladku.
Dogodivščina ti bo vzela več ur - na reki boš porabil okrog 4-5 ur (vštet je čas do zaklada ter pot nazaj) in preveslal več kilometrov. Tvoj porabljen čas pa bo seveda zelo odvisen od tvoje hitrosti in zmožnosti veslanja ter od hitrosti iskanja stopenj. Če ne zmoreš toliko veslanja, si na pot vzemi pajdaša, ki ti bo pomagal.
Zaklad sestavlja 7 stopenj in končni vsebnik. Stopnje so petlingi s karabinčki, zato jih le odpni in si vsebino oglej na čolnu. Če imaš težave z jemanjem in zlaganjem navodil, uporabi ta nasvet: navodila s prstom zavrti v levo ali desno smer in zlahka jih boš pospravil in dobil iz vsebnika.
Na eni izmed lokacij bos dobil štirimestno številko. Zabeleži si jo, saj jo boš rabil za izračun koordinat končne lokacije.
V zakladu sta tudi štampiljka in črnilna blazinica. Sta del zaklada, zato ju prosimo ne odstranjuj.
Na reki pazi svoj čoln, saj je ponekod gosto rastlinje, včasih pa tudi kakšno kamenje ali veje, ki ti ga lahko poškodujejo. Nekatere izmed stopenj so si blizu, druge so lahko med seboj precej oddaljene. Pomagaj si z zemljevidom, ko je to možno. Vedno pluj naprej, bodi vztrajen in ne obupaj.

Are you afraid of the man from the deep?
Rinža is a river in Kočevje, that's known for its slow current and vast underwater plants. During
World war II when the people in Kočevje thought they could not hold back their enemy, they
gathered all of their valuable possessions and hid them in the depths of the river. There it would
survive those dark times and when the time was right, they could go back and get it.
Legend says that they left a monster on the river to guard the treasure. They dragged him here in
chains and chained him into the ground on the river. They named him the man from the deep, since
his figure reminded them of that of a human.
But no one knew the beast could not be controlled. They say that many brave men have ventured to
retrieve the treasure, but none returned. The treasure was lost.
A poem spread through these lands:
No one is so tough
that it would be enough.
The beast roars on the river,
all the men now shiver.
The treasure we once knew,
now can't be saved by any crew.
But if you still seek the gold,
you must find the amulet I'm told.
The river Rinža
Now it’s your turn, Do you dare venture on the river to find the long lost treasure? Don't worry it's all
just a fairytale. Today's locals are pretty sure that the man from the deep doesn't really exist.
So are you brave enough to try? Or will all this talk of a beast make you flee and cry?
If you do decide to come, bring your own boat. You can't rent one on the river. Something about
many of the boats never returning..
Anyhow, just a weird coincidence if you ask us. So go on, the treasure is within your grasp.

Read the story. If you want to find this cache, you'll first have to prepare for your journey so listen
closely.
You're going to need your own boat, since you can't rent it on the river. You can either use a kayak or a canoe with paddles, they can be inflatable. The river is quite shallow in some areas – only a few
decimeters deep, so make sure your boat can handle it. You also have to be able to lift the boat out of
the water and transfer it to a higher part of the river, so plan accordingly. Footwear to be able to step
in the river at some points is recommended.
Boating on the river is allowed from April 1st to September 30th between 5:00 - 21:00 and from October 1st to March 31st between 7:00 - 18:00. Boating is prohibited outside of these times (during the night time). Do not venture onto the river during dry periods, since some of the areas are completely
dry and boating is impossible. Boating is allowed to the floodgate to the right of the entry point. You
shouldn't have trouble with that though since you'll turn left towards stage 1.
The adventure will take a few hours of your time – about 4-5 hours (this includes the time to find the cache and return to your car) and a few kilometres of paddling. The time will vary greatly
since it’s highly dependent on your paddling speed and the time it takes you to find all the stages.
So if you're not sure if you can handle it, bring a buddy.
The cache consists of 7 stages and the final cache. The stages are PET containers, to get them just
unhook the carabiners and check the inside of the container on your boat. If you’re having trouble
taking out and returning the instructions into the PET containers, use this trick: place your finger
inside the container with the note and twist the note right or left to get the instructions in and out without any hassle.
At one of the stages you will find a four digit number. Write it down because you will need it to calculate the coordinates to the final location.
Please don't share the story on the cache page so that others may enjoy it first hand as well. Inside the
cache you’ll find a stamp and an ink pad. They’re part of the cache so please leave them in the box.
The river has dense plants and even rocks or branches sticking out of the water in some areas so
watch out for your boat. Some of the stages are close together and some of them are far apart. Use the
map whenever you can to help you. Always keep paddling up the river, be persistent and don't give
up.
All of the stages, hints and waypoints are translated to English so you can solve the cache even if
you’re not a native speaker.
