Geocache Description:

This multi provides a brief history lesson about an event that in this community.

The coordinates listed above take you to the first stop on the way to the cache. Here you will find a small monument to a significant event that rocked many parts of the community of Roseburg, Oregon.

You will find a 4 digit number on the plaque. Take the first 3 digits of that number and add it to the seconds of the N coordinates and do the same calculation to the seconds of the W coordinates. This will be the coordinates for the final cache.

The final cache is near a large building that formerly housed a facility that played a significant role in the event described on the monument. Inside the cache container you will find a blue plastic label that tells you the name of the facility that used to be here. The cache may be a little hard to find but here’s the silver lining: no bushwacking necessary. The cache is within 2 feet of the pavement. Bring a pencil. For more information about the event, get a walking tour brochure from the Visitors Center at 410 SE Spruce which is located between the monument and the cache.
