To honor the natural and cultural heritage of the area, this hunt will lead you on a casual hike through the northland forest. Along the way you should experience the area's common forest communities, the remnants of the area's glacial history, and a variety of wetland features that eventually will lead you above the shores of a quiet undeveloped lake. Throughout time, the area's plants and animals have provided all the necessary materials for the local people (past and present) to make a living and survive.
The Anishinabe (Ojibwe) name for the geocache describes both the local materials gathered in the forest to hide the cache and its location.
Start your quest at the intersection of Lake Ahmeek Rd and the Ahmeek Lake Trail. Bring your bike and enjoy the miles of forest trails while you are in the area.
