Geocache Description:

This park lies on the old battlegrounds where the Satomi clan battled the Hojo clan in the Muromachi Period. Located on a plateau over 20 m above sea level facing the Edogawa, the park features a Western style garden with a fountain and a flower garden, and is cherished by locals as a popular site for cherry blossom viewing. From the top of the hill on the western side of the park you can see the Edogawa's course in front of you, and on a clear day Mt. Fuji is visible in the distance.

The Akedo Tomb, the Shiensosha (the old residence of poet Hakushu Kitahara moved from Koiwa, Tokyo in 1969), and the Rakan No I (a well that the Satomi clan is said to have used for drinking water during battle), are situated in one corner of the park.

Inside the park you can enjoy the rose garden, wisteria trellises, ume (Japanese plum) grove, maple trees, as well as cherry blossoms and various seasonal plants and flowers.

Cache size is 17cm x 7cm x 5cm plastic tupperware.
