Horse Power
Our third cache and it's a bit further from home this time.
In the gem of Hornsby Shire, Fagan Park, is where you'll find Horse Power. Simple to get to GZ - you might not even need a GPS if you are familiar with the area! It's camouflaged so beware. Also be careful with the lid, may be hard to open and close at first.
Fagan Park is an area of about 55 hectares on Arcadia Road at Galston. The site was donated by the Fagan family to the Department of Lands with Hornsby Shire Council appointed as sole trustee for the park. The park was adopted as Council's bicentennial project and was officially opened in November, 1988.
Fagan Park is open: EST 7.00am until sunset, DST 7.00am to 6.30pm, all year round, 7 days a week, except for Christmas Day.
Things to do: * Gardens of Many Nations (10ha of gardens) * Picnic and barbecue * Netherby Cottage - the original Fagan family homestead * Rural museums * Children's playgrounds * Bushland with short bushwalking trail * Large open areas for informal games and kite flying * Unsealed paths for bicycle riding * Arcadia Road (1 large picnic shelter) and Carrs Road (3 large picnic shelters) Picnic Areas. * Many small picnic shelters scattered throughout the park * Eco Garden - an educational, productive and sustainable garden.
Fees and charges: Entry Fee per Car $6.00. Unfortunately, council has now erected No Parking signs on Arcadia Rd near the main entrance so you cant park outside there. You can park outside the Carrs Rd entrance and simply walk in. Make sure you parallel park as council rangers have booked cars angle parked.
Cache: It's a small cache with a pencil and logbook and room for Geocoins and small TBs only.
