Rouvas-Gorge-Letterbox

You have two ways to find the letterbox.

This describes the first (hard) way with calculated coordinates.

Start at the parking-area and go to the north, between the two tavernas leads a path up to the hill and to the left, follow the signs. after a few hundred meters you will arrive the waypoint and see the monastery agios nikolaos. (From here you can also choose the easier way, skip the calculation and look further down). There take a look and answer the questions below to become the coordinates of the letterbox.

Look and count all crosses over blue domes; the sum is: A.

Look and count the columns from the entrance (three bows); the sum is: B.

Look and count the battlements below the main dome; the sum is: C.

Look and count the pillars of the big belfry; the sum is: D.

The sum from A+B+C+D is: 26

You can find the letterbox at the coordinates: N35° 09.(A-B-1)(D+1)(B+D) E024° 54.(D:2)(C-A+2)(B:2)

After this go the small way behind the monastery and follow the signs into the gorge.

The second (easy - without coordinates) way to find the letterbox is to find the location you see in the pictures below. We make some pictures nearby the final letterbox location, very impressiv location with a great view in the gorge. Some meters nearby the letterbox-finale. See spoiler.

Hike past the monastery agios nikolaos into the gorge. Keep walking... :-) Enjoy it ! :-)

Use the spoiler and find the box. It is covered with stones.

There is no inkpad into the container, because the climate will dry it to fast. If you like to stamp, please bring one yourself. You can log the logbook regular with a pen, like a traditional. The rules have changed for a while, so it is possible ! A stamp is into the container, please leave inside !

Now enjoy the rouvas-gorge and have a nice day there ! Don't give up, the letterbox isn't that hard to find if you walk the whole gorge. If you are unsure, contact us before you start hiking.
