Tun Fuad Stephens or sometimes known as Bukit Padang park is Kota Kinabalu's best public park whether, for exercise, relaxation or nature watching, this park has it all. A wonderful location to come with all the family young and old to stretch your legs and clear your mind. A 2km tarmac walking and jogging path surrounds a lake (once the old drinking water reservoir). Don't forget to pack some bread to feed the fish, terrapins, and ducks. At certain times of the week, there are also open-air Tai chi and Chi Gong sessions at various spots around the park. For those that want a little more adventure, there are multiple paths leading off the main lake trail which lead all the way up to the top of Bukit Padang 477ft above sea level. The majority of these are muddy and sometimes steep and on average 1KM long so bring good shoes, water, and a little snack if you are not in a rush. Talking of food there are several local restaurants and cafes at the park's entrance and pop up food and fruit stalls in the lower carpark to satisfy most visitors.
