A small cache on the Sledge track in the Wainuiomata Recreation Reserve.
This is a small cache located in the Wainuiomata Recreation Reserve, it is on the sledge track. You can access this track by using the Gums Loop track or Reservoir Road. The cache is on the Sledge Loop track and is about 1/2 way along, so dosn't really matter which direction you come from. The cache is a small snap-lok box painted brown. There is no need to leave the track for this one as its pritty much on the track itself.
You can park at the end of Hine Rd or in the parking area on Reservoir Road.
The track follows along many different native trees and most have signs telling info of what they are, how they grow and where they are found. There are many tracks within the area including the Tana Umanga track.
There are also a few swimming hole near by if you fancy a dip. The 1st at the start of the Gums Loop track, another aprox 1km along Reservoir Road and a 3rd at the start of Slegde Loop Track. All are clearly sign posted.
