Cougar Cache Traditional Geocache
The Hill Boys: Thanks to all who took the time to find this cache. Unfortunately, this one came up missing. I don’t really want replace it in the same location. Once bitten… I looked around the area for a more discrete location, but it’s kind of hard to go off trail around here. So, I have decided to archive this cache. Thanks again.

This cache is located on the Mt Elden Trail system. Well maintained trail with a moderate incline. Young children (6 and under) may have some difficulties, but it can be done. Lastly, keep an eye out for mountain lions (hence the cache name).
Easiest access is from the Mt. Elden Trailhead located just north of the Safeway/McDonalds on North Highway 89. From the parking lot, proceed up the trail. The cache is located on "Fat Man's Loop", however the shortest route to the cache is to go clockwise around the loop. So, follow the "Elden Lookout" part of the trail (which in the beginning is the "left" side of the Fat Man's Loop). It will take about 25 minutes to reach the cache going clockwise, or about 1 hour going counter-clockwise.
This incredible microclimate has everything from lizards/snakes to deer/mountain lions, cactus to spruce trees, huge boulders, and a pretty nice view to boot! If you have the time/energy, try completing the loop. It's only about 100 yds higher from the cache before you start the downward descent.
