Saturday August 20th, 2016 - Converge anytime from 1pm until 5pm (or more, some people can't get enough!) - this leaves plenty of time for Central Park caching before, during and/or after.
This is the "12th Annual Proto-Picnic!" There are always Central Park caches to be added to your finds, and some Puzzle Caches that you might want to work on with others in time for the event. And it's International Geocaching Day so the nice people at Groundspeak will award you a digital badge!
There are open outdoor tables at the Le Pain Quotidien in Central Park (it's not a fancy restaurant - it's a little outdoor snack café area) and we'll meet there informally. It's a "Proto" Picnic because you're not required to bring food! And Central Park is "kid friendly" too! Bring along your extra geocoins for trading, the usual "TB Trade-Offs" will take place.
So make this a fun opportunity to come into the city for those Central Park caches still on your "to do" list, and have a snack and some icy cool beverages (out in the typically hot weather!) with your geocaching brethren, sisteren, and children!
Saturday, August 20th from 1pm until 5pm at the Le Pain Quotidien next to the Sheep Meadow in Central Park.
Just look for the people tinkering with their iPhones and GPS devices and logging travel bugs!
