Shichifukujin are the seven gods that bring good luck.
They are representative of gods and holy persons in Buddhism, Shintoism and Taoism and are often drawn riding in a treasure ship.
Seven Lucky Gods became widely known in the Muromachi Period (1338-1573).
Today, at temples and shrines with Gods connections, people pray for long life and family well-being, and merchants, hoping for business success, display Seven Lucky Gods pictures.
When a steep slope is climbed while finding a stone statue of Shichifukujin from an entrance of route 1 of national highway, there is Yashiro (a small shrine) of Yahachi Shichifukujin.
You can also access from Tounosawa station at Hakone Tozan Cable Car.

箱根弥八七福神
弥八七福神は、箱根の塔ノ沢駅近くにあります。
七福神は、福をもたらす７人の神です。
仏教や神道、道教などの神や聖人から成るもので、よく宝船に乗った姿で描かれます。
かつて中国の故事に７人の聖者の話があったのに倣い、日本でも縁起のよい７人の神を集めて信仰するようになったといわれています。
七福神が広まったのは室町時代（1392〜1573）ごろからですが、現在でも、七福神ゆかりの寺社で長寿や家内安全を祈ったり、商家が商売繁盛を願って七福神の絵を飾ったりすることがあります。
国道1号線の入口から七福神の石像を見つけながら急な坂を登ると、弥八七福神の社があります。
箱根登山電車の塔ノ沢駅からもアクセスできます。
