Geocache Description:

This is a challenge cache. The cache is at the posted coordinates. However, you must meet the requirements below before you can log your find.

"I live in this great green land on the northeast Pacific Rim called 'Cascadia.' Cascadia is named not only after the mountain range, but above all, for the white waters plunging down the entire north Pacific slope, joining earth and sea and sky in endless life-giving cycles." -- David McCloskey (1994).

To log this challenge, you must find 25 unique caches that:

  1. reference a body of water in the cache name.. For example: ocean, river, lake, stream, creek, pond, bay, reservoir, channel, brook, gulf, sea, lagoon, inlet, sound, falls, waterfall, spring, arm, bayou, harbor, slough, canal, creek. UPDATE: Each cache in your list must use a unique water word. Falls and waterfall count separately, but you can only use 'creek' or 'lake' once, for example.

  2. are located in "Cascadia"... the great Pacific Northwest. For the purposes of this cache, this includes Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, the Alaska Panhandle up to 60 degrees north latitude, and California from the Oregon border down to 40 degrees north latitude.

Previously found caches may be counted towards satisfying these requirements.

Create a public bookmark list containing this cache and the caches you have logged to meet the above requirements. Once your bookmark list is complete, post a note to this cache page for review and approval to seek the final cache. Please continue to share your bookmark list for three months after receiving approval so that others may enjoy your list.

If you are a non-premium member, simply post a note to this cache listing all of the caches you've completed that satisfy the requirements along with their GC numbers and the dates you found them.

The Difficulty rating for this cache is the result of the legwork that will be required to satisfy the above requirements. However, the Terrain rating for this cache is based on the location of the final container. You WILL get wet and dirty doing this cache. You will need to go down a steep enbankment from the highway down to the Wilson River. You will then need to wade across the river and follow a rocky creek up to the final. There will be times of the year where pursuing this cache isn't safe or feasible. "That first step is a doozie!" The most challenging phase is getting down to and across the river.

At the final location, you will be looking for a well-stocked, traditional regular sized container hidden under some rocks along side a large log. Please trade even, and please hide the cache the way you found it so future cachers can also enjoy the find.

You will also be able to enjoy sights and sounds of one of Cascadia's natural white-water wonders. Enjoy!

Please note that the challenge checker located at project-gc.com/Challenges/GC2C4DQ is BROKEN for this cache.  It does not check for 25 UNIQUE water words, and it does not validate the geographic location of the caches you submit.  Therefore it does not correctly validate EITHER of the requirements of this cache.

Due to spotty GPS reception, the hint has "letterbox-style" instructions on how to find the container.
