Parish Church - Plaxtol
The year that this church was built – 1649 – explains the lack of dedication; no church built during the Cromwellian Commonwealth was named for any of the saints. It is the only church in Kent that was built during that period and thus the only church in Kent that has no saint dedicated to it. A number of other interesting features particular to this church include a well preserved hammer beam roof that was originally painted blue and the oak alter in the Lady Chapel. Visitors will also see in the churchyard a type of gravestone specific to the West Kent and East Sussex area; ragstone carved in the form of human beings with inscriptions on the heads.
This is a straight forward cache with parking nearby, though to give co-ordinates for the parking would be difficult as any I give may be filled when you get there - so look around, park up then seek the cache.
If any body would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
