Located in a small Aiken City park near the Aiken County Library. Hours of the park are 6AM until Dark. Best time to go is in cold weather or times when the park would be less inhabited, unless children are being used as decoys. Great stealth required due to the location. It can be considered a drive by cache as it is less than 500 feet to the cache depending upon parking.
The Aiken Institute was chartered in 1888. All grades in Aiken attended the institute until 1937 when a new high school was built and the building became Aiken Elementary. It was the 2nd oldest school in use in the state when it closed in 1986. The 1913 wing became the Aiken County Public library in 1990 with a city park located next door.
Beware of muggles both in the park and on the nearby roads.
Please remove camo lid only to keep the cache in its place. This cache can be difficult to find at various times of the year.
This cache has been placed with the permission of the Aiken City Parks and Recreation Department
