Welcome to the Bear Valley Hiking Series. I was in this area
last winter to find some caches and could not believe this
wonderful valley did not have more caches. This series is for those
who like to put some miles on their feet instead of their car.
I frequently search out and find caches that have long hikes in
unpopulated areas. Each one of this series will be named for a
cacher that you may see in the logbook or as the owner of caches
that require hiking to find. All of these cachers are from
Southcentral and Northeastern Pennsylvania that I have had personal
interaction with in some manner at some time.
The hike to these caches are generally along State Game Land
road/trail and generally level. Therefore, the terrain ratings are
reflective of the hike with a few exceptions which will be
reflected in the rating. All the caches in the series are meant to
be easy finds so please use the hints if you are having
difficulty.
Waypoints for the turn onto Bear Valley Road and for parking are
contained on cache GC2M22A to avoid having so many additional
waypoints when downloading them from the computer.
