Geocache Description:

The Stonehouse Peninsular is one of the most beautiful parts of Plymouth with stunning views and lots of history to explore. On your way to the GZ, enjoy a walk along the South West Coast path, keeping an eye out for writing on the floor along the way. Can you spot Arthur Conan Doyle's house on your way?

This cache will take you to a spot away from the crowds and give you a great view across to Drakes Island (also known as St. Nicholas Island after the chapel built there).  The GZ is in a location that used to be the gentlemens beach. The beach huts have long been destroyed but the remains of the concrete walls are still visible. On your way here you will have passed the ladies beach, now known as Tranquility Bay, where the beach huts are still in use and the locals regularly swim at high tide. Once you've found this cache, you can reward yourself with a coffee at one of the many cafes and restaurants in Royal William Yard. The Royal William Victualling Yard was the major victualling depot of the Royal Navy. It was designed by the architect Sir John Rennie and was named after King William IV. It was built between 1826 and 1835.
