Geocache Description:

A straightforward micro on a little known footpath

I like paths. Especially ones which are unusual or otherwise odd. In the course of a trip out with my GPSr to match and map paths around Bicester from the Oxfordshire Definitive Map with those on OpenStreetMap I noticed this one. Despite being familiar with the general location I had not noticed this hidden path and tunnel. Even at the best of times it's not well used, probably due to the horrendous quantity of mud in the area. Currently though it is truely pointless, as the southern approach is temporarily closed due to the ongoing rail construction work which will link the Bicester Town spur to the Chiltern main line. Exciting times...

Needless to say, due to the work this cache can only be approached from the north, via Jarvis Lane. As anyone who knows this area will be aware, wellies are essential when the area is wet and probably for some time afterwards. It also seems to attract a lot of youngsters and motorbikes, so stealth may be required!

The cache itself is slightly larger than a 35mm film pot, and contains the log and a pencil only. No room for swaps.

Enjoy!
