When? Sunday December 11, 2016, 1pm to 230pm. If you want to come earlier and enjoy some lunch, please do come earlier.
You do not need to celebrate Christmas in order to participate. Everyone of all faiths and denominations are welcome. Only requirement is that you must enjoy geocaching.
Where? The Atlantic Trap and Gill Pub 7704-104st NW, Edmonton. (table reserved for us under "Tamara & the Geocachers")
Who May Attend? All geocachers are welcome! (i.e. out-of-towners, new cachers).
Wear your ugliest or tackiest holiday sweater to win a door prize!
Gift Exchange "rules"
- Participating in the gift exchange is optional.
- Gift must be no more than $10 Canadian.
- Gift must be wrapped, to provide an element of surprize.
- Gift must be suitable for geocachers (think what would you like to receive?)
- Gift must be family friendly, as this is a family friendly event.
- Put your gift on the table when you arrive, no later than 115pm.
- Pull a number after 115pm
- Whoever has the highest number goes first, whoever has number 1 goes last (the coveted spot).
- Each gift can be "stolen" only once.
- The person who has #1, they can pick from anything, the rules do not apply to this person.
- When the gift exchange is over you can approach others to trade, beg, and barter
Typically there has been a collection of things to be donated to a charity group/organization. As an optional warm fuzzy for you and your fellow human, do something for your fellow human this December. Spend some time at a soup kitchen, clean out your old clothes and donate them, or purchase a gift for a needy child and donate it. These are just a few suggestions to help you get into the spirit, and give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. You can share what you did at the event (anonymously via a note in a PBJ). Or publicly in your log below.
