The cascades are a welcome place to sit on a warm afternoon as the sun settles in the west. In winter the walk is a bit slippery in places and crossing the creek needs a bit of care.
This cache is just off Cascade track between Olinda falls and Barbers Road- If you are in the area there quite a few caches not far from here.
The bush around this track is quite steep but the track follow a creek line.
Keep your ears and eys open for wildlife - lots of kookas, galahs, cockatoos, lyrebirds frequent this area. Nearby you may spot a swamp wallaby grazing the more open areas and roadsides near dusk and dawn.
The tree ferns off the west side of the track are very old- one of the ferns is over 10 meters high. The mountain ash's further up hill are probably 200 + years old.
On these roads watch out for the wombats at night.
Please do not attempt this cache on windy stormy or hot days ( eg Total Fire ban days)
