This is the pick of Tauranga’s parks, with its holiday atmosphere and waterfront site close to the city. It happily caters to all age groups with facilities like mini-golf, model railway, skateboard ramp —and a fountain in which young children love to cavort. Memorial Park has one of the city’s biggest, most modern children’s playgrounds. It’s another of Tauranga’s most popular picnic venues with gas barbecues, and plenty of places to stop and eat lunch. The Memorial Pool is old but tidy and a bargain swim for $2 adults, children a buck.
