Geocache Description:

The 3rd Hole is under the base of a huge tree at the top of the hill. You’ll cross the wash easier from the top. The 4th Hole is .20 miles ahead and 27 ft. down the hill. Use pictures as hints.

Nine Holes on Little Pucketa is a tough course that will test even the most adventurous and athletic Geocachers. If you are able to finish this in one day, and in series you deserve some serious respect. If you can do it all in one day and in series without using the picture hints and you are a Superstar.
This line of caches will take you on a woods walk up through a beautiful section of Little Pucketa Creek. Even though the creek is only ankle deep most of the year however you should still plan on getting plenty wet and dirty. That’s okay though, because I’m going to run you through the ringer. The route starts at Flyers Field along Rt. 56 by-pass in Lower Burrell N 40 34.732 W 79 43.376 and eventually takes you up past the VFD N 40 34.658 W 79 42.630 as you follow #1-9. I’d park a car at each location to avoid a long walk back. There are lots of game trails and open woods so you really shouldn’t be doing any heavy bush-whacking. There will be serious signal bounce when the leaves are in so the picture hints may come in handy.
This is laid out a lot like the original Adventure Walk only with fewer creek crossings, and better all-season access. Be careful with your water crossings if the water is high or iced over, save this one for a better day.
My track was about 2.5 miles with over 1000 foot change in overall elevation. This line of caches took months from concept to completion, and several hours over 4 different days to actually place the caches. This is a BIG and very challenging course and there is no shame in splitting this up over a few outings. There is cell phone coverage the whole way, just in case.
The entire route is on land with public access however it is wise to stay well clear of any houses or yards along the way. Please be respectful of the land owners and at Flyers Field and park well out of the way of any buildings, equipment and thoroughfares. Thank you in advance for you cooperation. Be safe and enjoy!
Serious respect earned by scrabblehounds for FTF on all Nine Holes!
The Superstar duo of Grayhawke and shevy9 were FTF all Nine Holes without picture hints! This is confirmed.
