Kesäinen kätkö, jolta yhteys Espoon saaristoon (Ristiniemi). Huomioi attribuutit etsiessäsi!

Summer cache with a connection to the archipelago of Espoo. Note the attributes!

Paikalla sijaitsi vuoteen 2011 asti vanha betoninen laituri sekä vähän tuoreempi geokätkö. Espoon kaupunki purki vanhan laiturin ja rakensi paikalle uuden saaristovenelaiturin, jolta kesäaikana pääsee tutustumaan Espoon saaristoon pientä maksua vastaan. Alla tarinaa edesmenneen kätkön kuvauksesta.

Helsingin kaupungin nopea kasvu 1800-luvun loppupuolella synnytti Espoon rannikolle kesähuvilabuumin. Sen myötä alkoi myös säännöllinen höyrylaivaliikenne. 1873 reittiä Helsinki-Klobben (vastarannalla) liikennöi jo kaksi laivaa. Noin 200 metrin päässä kätköltä koilliseen näkyy Sandvikin kivilaiturin jäännökset. Laituria käytettiin höyrylaivojen yöpymiseen. Kieltolain (1919-1932) aikaan alue oli tärkeä salakuljetetun viinan lastauspaikka. Trokarit varastoivat pirtun kätköihin, joita oli ympäri rannikkoa. Piilotettiinpa osa pirtusta jopa upottamalla se mereen!

In the late 19th century, city of Helsinki grew rapidly. This led to the construction of summer villas to coastal areas of Espoo. Trips were made by steamboats; in 1873 there were two steamboats travelling the lane Helsinki-Klobben (on the opposite shore). Remains of the Sandvik dock, used for the overnight stay of the steamboats, can be found about 200 meters NE from this point. During prohibition law (1919-1932) smugglers used the area as an unloading place of the spirits. Bootleggers hid the hard stuff to caches both in dry land and the sea!
