Experience the Tidal Bore! Whether you participate as a rafter, or view the bore from the shorelines, this event is sure to thrill one and all!

With the world's highest recorded tides, the Bay of Fundy is witness to one of nature's unique shows found only on the Shubenacadie River in Nova Scotia. The bore, or tidal wave, will gather in height and strength as it nears the Bay of Fundy and enters the river system. It takes experiencing it in person to really understand it's magnitude. The immense force of the incoming tide will reverse the outgoing river and send it up river, towards the Town of Shubenacadie.
We are having an event to celebrate this phenomenon. Cachers may come to experience the tidal bore first hand in the river on a Zodiac, or may watch from the shore. For those geocachers not going river rafting, there are many geocaches to be found in this area. New caches will be placed prior to the event.

La rivière Shubenacadie en Nouvelle-Écosse profite des marées les plus élevées au monde qui se manifestent au sein de la baie de Fundy. Le mascaret se forme et agrandit en force et en hauteur pour ensuite se verser dans la rivière. Il faut l'observer pour se rendre compte de la véritable ampleur de cet événement. L'immense force de la marée inverse le flux de la rivière vers la ville de Shubenacadie.
Cet événement sert à célébrer ce phénomène. Les participants peuvent jouir de l'expérience sur la rivière à bord d'une embarcation Zodiac ou observer le long des rives. Pour ceux qui choisissent de demeurer sur terre ferme, plusieurs géocaches se trouvent dans la région. Des nouvelles caches seront placées au préalable.
