Geocache Description:

Saint Barbara is the patron saint of gunners. Kingston because of its extensive military heritage contains many different examples of guns. This cache will take you on a tour of different guns located in the city. More info on St. Barbara can be found at Para 704 here: http://www.artillery.net/english/RCA%20Standing%20Orders.pdf

Thanks to JLAM-D for the link.

I have modified the cache so that it may be completed by justing using information at each site. If you chose this route use the alternate "On site" clue instead of the first clue at some of the sites.
If you want to solve the original cache use the first clue and come pre-armed with the following knowledge:
1. Gun armament of past jet fighters used by the RCAF
2. The main heavy guns used in British Fortifications circa 1812.
3. Canadian tanks guns since WWII.

Most of this information can be quickly found on the net. You may have to dig a little for the 1812 info, but that is not too hard in this town.

The sites are numbered in a rough tour, you can do them in any order, but bear in mind site 8 is close to the final cache location.

Time for completion is about 2-3 hours.

RMC is open to the public during the day. In the evenings it is still open but the commissionaires will record your license plate and ask your intentions (looking at the military hardware displays). After midnight there is no admittance.

Cache is a small round container.

The size of gun is always in the unit used for that gun during its use. For example; inches, millimeters or pounds.

Cache is located at: 44 AB.CDE, 76 FG.HIJ

Congrats to Swimmrguy on the FTF!
