Event at Dunnottar Castle
Where – Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven AB39 2TL
When – Wednesday 7th August 12noon-1pm
Come along to a lunchtime event at Dunnottar Castle, just south of Stonehaven. This castle is not only famous for being the hiding place of the Scottish Crown Jewels in the 17th Century
Also, if you didn't manage to spot any dolphins at the event yesterday, here is a second chance for you as they are often to be found swimming along the coast here between Aberdeen and Montrose.
The event lasts an hour, but we expect cachers to want to take in the beauty of the surrounding scenery and perhaps visit the castle, so feel free to make an afternoon of it. There is a food hut available on site but it's not always open so we recommend taking your own meal options.
Afterwards, why not take a short stroll into Stonehaven itself – with its picturesque harbour and seafront (which has some of the best ice-cream shops around), and the home of the internationally famous ‘deep fried mars-bar’ which you can try if you dare!
