Waiting for Ironman
Unconvinced that Ironman was really going to put out the
Be-All to End-All cache that he'd been promising for years (well,
ok, one year), I sat down with a topo map and started to scour the
area for features that were like those he'd let slip.
On a whim, I punched in a set of coordinates that looked
promising and was on my way.
By the time I parked my truck and set off on foot, I had only
1/3 of a mile to go... but what was I going to find? The anxiety
and excitement were palpable. The day was cold and crisp. I watched
the distance to my destination drop.... ever ... so ... slowly.
As I came to the last corner I fairly held my breath, unsure of
what I would find. Waiting for Ironman is the result of that
effort.
Please pay special attention to the location of the cache itself
and how it is attached. When you replace it, it should be easily
visible from one direction for your encouragement, and not so
easily visible from another to discourage random pilferage. Also,
please make sure that all contact points are secure.
