A quelques kilomètres de Thionville, a été construit pendant
l'annexion allemande le fort d'Illange ou Feste
Illingen
.
Sa mission était d'assurer protection au fort de Guentrange (Feste
Obergentringen ) et de sécuriser ainsi la gare de Thionville et
d'interdire le franchissement de la Moselle. Grace à une batterie
de 4 canons de 100mn et 3 compagnies d'infanterie en appuie.
Le fort fut intégré à la Ligne Maginot après la première
guerre mondiale.
Je vous propose de le découvrir grâce à une petite
marche circulaire à travers casernes, postes de guet, parapets et
bunkers.
Il n'y a jamais
besoin de quitter le
chemin!
A few lilometers from Thionville there is a
fortification constructed during the german occupation :" Le fort
D'Illange".
It's missionwas to secure the fortification of Guentrange
and to keep the railway station of Thionville safe to prevent the
crossing of Moselle.
The fortification became part of the Ligne Maginot after
the first world war.
Discover this place by doing a circuit through
it.
