Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This series of caches is intended as a circular walk taking in 12
caches as you go, with the added bonus of another Church gem also
on route. Our recommended parking is from the north, at the
entrance to Chorley caravan park. There is a very welcome bench here
for a snack at the end.
The route takes in some very little used paths of beautiful
Shropshire, with a variation of woodland and meadow countryside.
There are 4 things to note,
1. After doing cache 4 going onto 5 the path seems to go between a
hedge and field fence. It is very overgrown in parts with lots of
nettles. We recommend, as we did (in shorts !)going round the
inside edge (right side of wire fence)around this large field.
2. There are parts of Birchen wood that are muddy but not that
bad.
3. There is a small Triangle of paths between cache 1 and 12, it
has a small break in it of about 100 yds, it has a slighly hostile
sign either end of the break, we walked it (approx 50 secs) but if
you are not sure you can walk the opposite way around the
triangle.
4. Stout shoes or boots, are recommended, a very useful item to
carry with you is an OS map of the area, and PLENTY TO DRINK in
warm weather.
