Geocache Description:

This group of caches will take you on a long circular route which includes four Munros and a beautiful remote Loch.  Hill walking can be dangerous and you do so at your own risk.  Make sure you have all the correct equipment and know how to use it.  Parking is available free of charge at the Spittal of Glenshee or the walk can be significantly shortened by parking at the hotel for £2.50.  If parking at the hotel then it is a requirement that you go in past reception to inform them and pay the fee.

Glas Tulaichean (Ranked #80 at 3,448ft / 1,051m), Carn an Righ (Ranked #101 at 3,376ft / 1,029 m), Beinn Iutharn Mhor (Ranked #88 at 3,428ft / 1,045m) & An Socach (Ranked #228 at 3,097ft / 944m) are all included in this 20.4 mile / 32.8 km walk.  I have provided waypoints for the route I took during the walk but feel free to explore the area however you please.  Below is the distance to each summit or cache, as well as the amount of ascent required if you decide to follow my route.

Glas Tulaichean (The Green-Grey Hillocks) - Distance 5.2 miles / 8.4 km - Ascent 2,326ft / 709m

Carn an Righ (The Rocky Hill of The King) - 7.5 miles / 12.1 km - Ascent 3,392ft / 1,034m

Beinn Iutharn Mhor (The Big Hill Mountain) - 10.1 miles / 16.3 km - Ascent 4,380ft / 1,335m

An Socach (The Snout) - 13.4 miles / 21.6 km - Ascent 5,656ft / 1,724m

Loch nan Eun - 15.4 miles / 24.8 km - Ascent 5,997ft / 1,828m

The first cache is placed on the summit of Carn an Righ and I followed the excellent track all the way from the Dalmunzie Castle Hotel via Glas Tulaichean.  It is possible to cut out the large loop on the descent of Glas Tulaichean by cutting across the heather to pick up the track to Carn an Righ. THE FOOTBRIDGE (N 56° 50.046 W 003° 29.676) NEAR THE END OF THE WALK IS DOWN SO YOU WILL NEED TO FIND A SUITABLE CROSSING POINT NEARBY.
