Geocache Description:

A quick park and grab. This is the beginning of an easy walk/hike to picturesque West Pond. The trail starts out as a snowmobile trail for about .5mi. The last .2mi goes through the woods (NOTE: once in the woods the trail forks...the proper trail is to the right). If you make it to the pond grab the West Pond Cache while you are there.

"If any young man is about to commence the world, we say to him, publicly and privately, Go to the West" is a quote by Horace Greely (from the newspaper New Yorker--August 25, 1838). The term "Go West, young man" may be a paraphrase of this statement. Here is a cache that can start you on your westward journey...to West Pond.
