This cache is part of the 300 Dogs series (GC1984N) by meandmydogs. It is located in an area we used to run our Brittanys for exercise. They liked it here and would be calmer and happier when they burned off some energy.
You are seeking a medium lock & lock along a power line without a real trail.
We chose Brittany Spaniel because they are the only dogs we've lived with in the 30+ years we have been together. Grasmere Guy wanted a dog that would be a good family pet and double as a pointing dog during bird hunting season. We have enjoyed the companionship of two Britts. Bert (Bertha, named after Grasmere Guy's bird hunting grandmother) was a great bird dog. She loved running through corn fields and retrieving downed birds that had dropped in rivers or ponds. Chief, our current dog, is now retired but is a strong, handsome dog. He is more emotionally attached to us than Bert. He was a tremendous pointer, and would flush upon command.
The breed was originally bred as a hunting dog and is easily trained, friendly and eager to please. Brittanys are good family pets but are energetic dogs and need exercise every day. Originally called the Brittany Spaniel, it is now referred to simply as the Brittany, as its hunting style more closely resembles that of pointing breeds. The Brittany was named for the French province where it originated.
If you bring your dog when you seek this cache, he/she will thank you for it. Check for ticks during your hike and before you get back into the vehicle, on both you and the dog. Parts of these trails can be wet most of the year.
