The original letterbox hybrid we placed in the park, Fenner Letterbox (GC2HF9P), went missing about three years ago, so we archived it. Then this past fall, the container re-appeared somewhere else in the park, and it was spotted on a hike by a couple geocachers - sparkyjen and Doodle.Bug. They contacted us, and got the container returned to us (Many Thanks!). Now that the snow has all melted, we have placed the container back out in the park as Fenner Letterbox II.
Once you arrive at the posted coordinates, you will need to follow the description below to find the cache.
When you arrive at the coordinates, you should be on a paved trail near two junctions. Take the left choice at both junctions, and head on back into the woods. As you continue down the paved trail, you will eventually encounter a bench on the right side. About 30 to 35 paces past the bench, where the paved trail curves to the right, take the unpaved trail on the left. At the junction right after you leave the paved path, take the path on the right. At the intersection of unpaved paths, continue straight. Just ignore a small path on your left, and continue straight. Eventually you will arrive at a junction where the path on your right has a gate and the path on your left has a pavilion in the distance. When you reach this junction, walk towards the gate. Stop about 15 to 20 feet before you reach the gate, and you will be able to find the cache in some deadfall on your left, about 15 to 20 feet off of the trail. The cache location is shown in the photo below:
As with all Letterbox caches we have placed a rubber stamp in the container. Please use it to stamp your stamp book (if you have one) and use your stamp to stamp the logbook. If you do not have a letterbox stamp, please either use our stamp or draw a picture for us in the log book.
Please do not remove the rubber stamp and ink pad from the geocache, because that is what makes this cache a letterbox hybrid. Thanks!
Please be advised that this is not a park-n-grab, it involves a significant hike on mostly unpaved trails. However, it should not take too long, and we set it up to be relatively kid friendly. We hope that you enjoy your hike at Fenner!
