This cache has been placed to celebrate Geocachers doing their bit towards Big Dee Day 2012.
Big Dee Day clean-up Fri 21st & Sat 22nd Sept -Volunteers Wanted
PEOPLE who work or live near the River Dee are being asked to pinpoint stretches of the area blighted by rubbish or debris. Organisers Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC), Flintshire County Council and the Environment Agency are asking people to get involved early by highlighting areas which might need to be targeted. Organisers are interested in the banks of the Dee, its tributaries and surrounding floodplains. As well as picking up litter, some cutting back and clearance work will also take place. This year’s Big Dee Day promises to be bigger than ever, with a breakfast launch at Chester Racecourse kicking off the event on the first day. More than 600 volunteers gave up their time last year across West Cheshire and Flintshire to lend a hand, including individuals, community groups, sports clubs, local businesses, the council, Probation Service and the fire service
