Mária Hrúz and István Petrovics
WAP: The case is medium-size box, which can be found under the many-branched old yew
A local legend at Maglód says, that’s where Petofi’s "Anyjának tyúkja" ("mother's hen") was strolling around, because this is where István Petrovics and Mária Hrúz got to know each other, in the shambles which operated at the very place where now Pakányi’s butcher’s shop does.
Sándor Petofi’s parents István Petrovics and Mária Hrúz married on 15th september 1818. by minister Dániel Mikulás.
They lived here and it was only a few days before the birth of their child that they moved to Kiskorös. Just a few days of delay and Maglód would have been the birthplace of the great poet. (That would be great, indeed!)
The Petofi memorial tablet
The tablet was placed in 1948, the centenary of Petofi’s birth by the village authorities at 1 Petofi Square, the former home of his parents.
The tablet placed on the wall of the one-time shambles was lost, and was replaced in 1991. István Petrovics, the poet’s father was a butcher, Mária Hrúz, her mother a maid at the local teacher.
The Statue of Petofi
This bust was also erected in 1948 at the centre of Maglód, hinting at the connection the poet’s parents had with the village.
The Case
Can be found in the so-called Szilvölgy, not far from the station, at the edge of the village. Stick to the dirt road, if possible, or make sure your shoes are waterproof? The yew is off the road, near a creek.
The case itself is a box, roughly 19x19x10cm. If you are palnning to get the there by car, use this place to park the vehicle: N 47° 26,0600' E 19° 21,8200' 165 m [GCHMPI+Parkolo]
If you come from the memorial house: follow the dirt road, it’s a good 15 minutes’ of walking. Either way: please don’t tread on the fields.

WAP: A láda egy sokágú öreg szilfa tövében található, közepes méretu doboz.
Maglódi "hagyomány", hogy itt kapirgált egykor Petofi "Anyjának tyúkja", ugyanis itt ismerte meg egymást Petrovics István és Hrúz Mária, a Pakányi féle hentesüzlet helyén muködo mészárszéken.
Petofi Sándor szülei, Petrovics István és Hrúz Mária 1818. szeptember 15-én kötöttek házasságot Mikulás Dániel evangélikus lelkész elott.
Itt éltek és csak néhány nappal fiuk születése elott költöztek el Kiskorösre. Néhány nap késlekedés, és Maglód lett volna a nagy költo szülofaluja. (De szép is lenne!)
Petofi-emléktábla
Itt a Petofi-tér 1. szám alatt található emléktáblát 1948-ban, a centenárium alkalmával állította a község a szülok valamikori lakóhelyén.
A hajdani hentesüzlet falán lévo emléktábla idovel elkallódott, de 1991-ben pótolták.
Petrovics István, a költo apja a hentesüzletben volt henteslegény, Hrúz Mária, a költo édesanyja pedig a tanítónál dolgozott cselédként.
Petofi-szobor
Az 1848-as forradalom centenáriumán 1948-ban állították fel Maglód központjában a Petofi-mellszobrot, mely a költo szüleinek maglódi kapcsolatára utal.
A láda
Az állomástól nem messze a falu szélén található az ún. Szilvölgyben. Lehetoleg a földúton haladjatok, vagy vigyetek gumicsizmát:) Az útról letérve, a patak mellett, egy szilfa tövében találjátok.

Aki az emlékháztól jön, annak: a földúton egyenesen induljanak el (jó negyed órás séta),
aki nem onnan jön, az meg ne tapossa le a szántóföldet.
