Borrego Backcountry Linked Caches Part 2 Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: When it announced that Anza Borrego Desert State Park would no longer allow geocaches, this cache was disabled in hopes that we could come to an arrangement where some geocaches could remain in the Park. Many years have passed and the situation has not changed and as this cache owner now seems to be inactive, I am archiving this cache.

Geocache Description:

In an area containing a maze of slot canyons, on a ridge above N fork Arroyo Wash in a wind cave. Approach from wash accessed via coordinates in table below.

This is cache #13 in the series. Each of these caches has a different unit of U.S. currency. Total cash is $189.21. Caches 1 - 7 can be found by following links in original Borrego Backcountry Linked Caches. Only cache 1 has been found so far, but this cache is easier to find.

Each cache has a link to the next, written in several places in the cache, including twice in each cache notebook. By following the links in this series, you can find caches 13 thru 7.

It's easy to get in the wrong wash in this area, but this is a really cool place to go hiking. I recommend dropping into wash below turnout at specified location (in table below), and following main wash all the way to near cache. Then just scramble up ridge at the safest place you can find, follow ridge to near cache, and descend directly to cache. I recommend retracing your steps to get back, as the wash I came back on had a couple of difficult to descend 10' dry waterfalls.

Container is plastic 1 gallon jar wrapped in red duct tape, with blue lid. This is same color scheme of all caches in this series. Cache contents are:

  • glass art piece
  • ceramic gator
  • opera glove
  • sweatband
  • 1 brasilian real
  • notebook with link to cache #12
  • pencil
  • 1 quarter
