Quick pitstop on Route 2 West.
This first cache of mine was inspired by the similar quick pitstops
on Route 495 in Chelmsford/Lowell, see the cache listings for
Moose-r-us,
and MrEdden,.
Since I placed it I have noticed some in rest stops and park and
ride places on Rt 93 just over the border in NH, and a whole series
of them in rest stops on the Mass Pike by Stargeezer.
Route 2 is called the Mohawk Trail, but that's really some 40 or 50
miles farther west from here.
The container is small and has no room for normal trade items
(except maybe a few coins). There is no writing instrument inside
so bring your own.
This is a high traffic (s.i.c) area so be sneaky and the location
may be occupied so you may have to return some other time.
While here visit the John Chapman aka Johnny Appleseed visitor
center and see a brass statue of him in front. If they ever fix the
machine you can patriotically smash a penny with a Massachusetts
logo.
There are a few caches off the immediate next exit then about a
mile and half up, and many others beyond this gateway to the
west.
Ok, as a hint about my hint. Crack open a physics textbook. Or
better yet, bring it or any book to use as a ruse to avoid
suspicious activity at the site. As long as it's not raining there
or too much snow you could actually enjoy the sunlight even when
cold.
