I'D RATHER GO TO THE ORIENT-- EUDORA Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

forthebeautyoftheearth: Opening the area up for a new target. Bags have been removed...as well as a cache container (pill bottle with gray duct tape), which was about six feet away. It had a log in it which hadn't been signed since 2016. There might be yet another cache container (lock & lock) lurking around which served from 2016-2018. I blame squirrels for the displacements. Thanks to all who visited!

Geocache Description:

It is mid June, 1978.  Sally doesn't want to go to camp. On the bus, she sits beside Eudora, a girl with long, straight hair and a hat, who also doesn't want to go to camp. The two hit it off.  In fact, later on, when Sally returns home, she complains that "My miserable time was ruined!" because of her meeting her new friend and having to convince her that camp was fun.

The quote comes from the June 15 strip. The two are on their way to the main hall for orientation. Eudora says, "If they try to ship us to the Orient, forget it!" Sally replies, "How do you feel about washing dishes and setting tables?" And then we have our cache title, "I'd rather go to the Orient!"

The cache is a small lock 'n lock container. It's at the end of the nature trail, in a picnic/playground area. You'll probably have a bit of privacy.
