Hanko tunnetaan 1200-luvulta saakka. Maihinnousupaikkana on käytetty ilmeisesti vieressä olevaa Kappelisatamaa. 1500-luvulla tällä alueella (Hangonkylä) oli pari tilaa joita viljeltiin satunnaisesti.
Näillä kallioilla sijainneesta kappelista on ensimmäinen merkintä asiakirjoissa vuodelta 1631 jolloin seppä Hans tuomittiin sakkoihin hänen tehtyään töitä jumalanpalveluksen aikana.
Kätköpaikan lähellä on myös hiidenkirnu.
Lumi haittaa kätkön löytymistä talvella.
Hanko is known from the 13th century. The Kappelisatama harbour was the place that was used for landing. During the 16th century, there were two farms in this area (Hangonkylä).
On these rocks, there was a chapel. The first mark on official documents of this chapel is from the year 1631. Blacksmith Hans was fined because he was working during a church service.
There is also a pothole near the cache.
During winter, snow causes problems to find the cache.
