Geocache Description:

Another cache in my Horse series along the Ringtail Trail.

When I was a teenager I was very active in my Central Illinois 4-H horse program competing in shows with my horse, Vaquero. As an Arabian/Saddlebred cross, he was very good not just in English classes but also Western Riding where he had to change leads at every marker like a Dressage horse. I learned so much about taking care of horses and showing as a youth that I then became a 4-H horse program leader when we moved to Summit County here in Colorado, even though we didn't have any children yet.

Hike, ride your horse or bike up this moderate trail. Park at the Indian Creek TH on CO 67 ($6 parking fee), 10 miles west of Sedalia (just past the Rampart Range Rd. intersection). Start on the Indian Creek Trail #800 near the bathroom & follow that up to the old "Dump Rd" and cross it to the well signed Ringtail Trail & continue up to the cache. Close to 2.8 miles one way. Stay on the trail until your GPS reads about 140'. You will probably need to save the cache info as cell data is sketchy up here.
