A series of caches hidden to celebrate the locations of Scout Groups that have existed in Keirawarra (Scout) District (Helensburgh to Mount Kembla). It is 90 years this year (2013) since the opening of the first Scout Groups in the Wollongong Districts.
1st (2) Korrahill Scout Group Headquarters - 78 Railway (2) Street Corrimal.
The (2) youngest Scout Group in the District, this Group was formed in 1997 following the amalgamation of (5) the 1st Corrimal and 1st Fernhill Groups. Scout (7) Groups have to be named after where they are located. Consequently, the Lord Mayor of the time (and a former 1st Corrimal Scout) had this area named 'Korrahill Grove' so that the Group could use its selected name,
This Scout (5) Group is still in existence, currently with a full compliment of Sections, a Joey Mob, (4) Cub Pack, Scout Troop, Venturer Unit and Rover Crew. The Group has had a significant drop in membership over the last (0) five years, but is currently experiencing a resurgence that will hopefully (2) see this Group with a long history survive.
The 1st Corrimal Scout Group Hall (1) was at this same location. It burned down in the late 1990s, being one of the factors that lead to the amalgamation and formation of the Group that is here today
There is a cache hidden within 160m of this location. As such, I have had to hide my cache away from here.
If you want to find the cache the hard way, look for the local tennis club. If you want to find it the easier way, use the numbers in brackets dispersed within the text, the correct Southings are the first five numbers, the final five numbers are the Eastings.
