Cache is hidden along the Bow River in SE Calgary. Trail is easily accessed from the bike path or street parking in the nearby neighbourhood. However you access the area, the terrain will not be too challenging.
Another in a series of caches intended to show you good places for seeing birds and wildlife while you hunt for a cache. This is my old neighbourhood where my dogs and I used to enjoy watching many birds on or near the river. After a fun evening of introducing geocaching to my nephew, we decided this area of town needs more caches so this is the spot we picked!
At this location I have seen many birds such as cormorants, loons, ducks, grebes, pelicans, geese, finches, sparrows, chickadees, swallows, blackbirds, hawks, merlins and my favorite, ospreys fishing in the river. You may even see skunks, porcupines, deer, coyotes or a playful otter exploring the banks of the river. Take time to enjoy the views of the river with downtown in the distance.
FTF is a $5 giftcard. Happy caching!
CONGRATS TO bearberry ON THE FTF!!
