Happily Hiding in Hedera Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

gastropodgirl: Well, all the Hedera that the cache used to hide in was gone, as was the cache. Since I am moving away, I am archiving this one. Thanks to all who got to visit my happy little container!

Geocache Description:

This happy little cache is nestled along a lovely path surrounded by greenery. Park on Via Verde or at the end of Angelus Way.

Del Rey Park has it all! There are two playgrounds, BBQs, baseball, basketball and volleyball areas, picnic benches, a big field to frolic on, and a goofy lion drinking fountain. Adjacent to the park there's a lush mini forest to walk through. This is where my happy cache resides.

Amongst the foliage here is English ivy (Hedera helix) an evergreen vine that can grow to 100 ft. (30.5 m) in length. Leaf shape is very variable, but commonly occurs as a 3-5 lobed leaf with a heart-shaped base. Flowering is triggered by sunlight, such as when the vines climb into taller vegetation. In the late summer mature plants produce terminal clusters of greenish-yellow flowers; fruits are black and fleshy. English ivy is an invasive, and can grow both along the ground, where it can displace native understory species, and in the tree canopy, often covering branches and slowly killing trees. Native to Europe, it was introduced into North America by early settlers for ornamental purposes.

The cache is smaller than an ammo box, but with plenty of room for trades. Contents at placement: handmade magnet, Highly Addictive geocoin, flower seeds, water gun, recycling sticker, pens, knight and catapult, monkey and turtle erasers, dog clicker, hand sanitizer, and logbook.

No need to leave the path. There is no PO by the cache, but be careful of thorny blackberry vines nearby. *Please replace the cache carefully and face it away from the path.*
