Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Tom A. Freemann Preserve, one of the newer additions to the system of preserves and parks in Washtenaw County. The preserve is mainly forested, with many beautiful mature trees, and has considerable topographic variation.  Some wetlands and Kirk’s Brook, a tributary of Fleming Creek, flows through it. No bushwacking is required.  Please replace the cache container exactly as found.  Bring your own  pen or pencil. DO NOT PARK ALONG FORD ROAD.

While visiting this cache take the time to hike the trails in the Tom A. Freeman preserve as well as the trails in the City of Ann Arbor Marshall Nature Area which are connected to the preserve trails.  These are very beautiful natural areas with a system of connected trails. If one desires a very nice hike to the cache,  park in the Marshall Nature Area lot on the west side of Dixboro Road and just north of Plymouth Road. This hike is about a two mile round trip. There are several steep hills on this route so be prepared for a strenuous but very nice hike in the woods.  This a log only cache. A little tool is in the smaller than a micro container to aid in extracting the log. The cache is winter friendly until about a foot of snow has accumulated.
